What’s new in Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.5
Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.5 is the latest version of the popular ERP software. It comes with quite a few new features and functionalities as well as some changes in the supported platforms. With no surprise again, it is focused on the customer’s “Needs and Ideas”, Here are some of the highlights.
One of the key changes in GP 18.5 is that it now supports Windows 11, SQL Server 2022, and Windows Server 2022. This means that you can run Dynamics GP 18.5 on the most recent versions of these operating systems and databases. However, it drops SQL Server 2014 as a supported database. If you are using SQL Server 2014, you will need to upgrade to a newer version before installing GP 18.5. You can reach out to our tech team we can help you with that.
Another new feature in Dynamics GP 18.5 is the ability to filter selected Navigation Lists by Batch ID or Batch source and add the display to the navigation list information. This will allow you to narrow down the list of transactions or record by specifying a batch ID or a batch source. You can also add these fields to the display of the navigation list information. This new feature can help you quickly find the information you need and make improved decisions.
The Chequebook Balance Inquiry window (Checkbook) has also been improved with a new ‘redisplay’ function when doing a Bank Reconciliation. This feature can help you quickly identify discrepancies and resolve them.
GP 18.5 also includes account category lookup options, warnings, tools to manage inactive vendor address records, and the ability to print 1099-NEC forms. You can also import 1099-NEC data from Excel or CSV files.
Finally, Microsoft is introducing a new cash receipts option that allows you to enter cash receipts directly in the transaction entry window, without having to go through the cash receipts window. You can also apply cash receipts to invoices or credit memos in the same window. This feature can help you streamline your cash management processes and improve your cash flow.
