La situation

Metzger Veterinary Services is a large animal vet practice that covers southern Ontario. Their services range from emergency medicine and preventative health consultations for cattle, swine, sheep, equine, goat and rabbit operations, to cattle exporting and emergency slaughter service. The practice was experiencing operational inefficiencies with their current ERP system due to its inability to integrate with their financial system, manual dispatching, invoicing process and unequipped reporting system.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV was implemented which allowed the practice to track inventory in their trucks, issue invoices in close to real-time, and email customer statements. In addition, Any-Warehouse was incorporated into the system to provide full inventory control, along with JetReports to facilitate customized reports and SoftVet for in-field notifications and transaction processing on mobile devices.

With a fully-integrated system now in place Metzger Veterinary Clinic has full visibility of all inventory, enabling management to make informed business decisions and achieve the best annual inventory count. The business is also enjoying enhanced distribution functionalities that accommodate legislation changes, and the invoicing process has been streamlined which has saved the clinic huge amounts on human resource and mailing costs. Lastly, real-time dispatching and in-app invoicing has led to impressive productivity gains from their field technicians.
